We work with children ages 3 and up to address self-regulation, anxiety, self-care skills, school-related fine motor skills such as cutting, writing and drawing. We can provide therapy in some private schools and preschools, depending on location and insurance.
Free Meet and Greet Appointments
We recommend that you set up a Free Meet and Greet session with a therapist to see if we’re a good fit or if you need time to discuss your child’s needs. This appointment can be in person or by phone. It is for parents only, so please do not bring your child. We want you to be free to discuss your concerns without your child hearing them.
If we are billing insurance on your behalf we will need to check your benefits first. We MUST have this information before we can confirm an evaluation appointment. We will contact you for this information.
If we are out of network with your insurance we can provide a receipt for you to submit for reimbursement. We encourage you to check your out of network benefits to understand your costs and reimbursement. We are happy to help you with this process if needed.
What to expect at your evaluation appointment
Evaluations typically take 45 minutes to an hour. We usually ask that parents wait outside of the testing room. This allows us to establish rapport with your child more easily. You may wait in our waiting area or sit outside of the room if you would like to listen in.
After the evaluation appointment we complete the report within a week and send you a copy. We offer a free 20-minute follow up appointment to discuss the results and proposed goals and plan if you would like.
Groups are often a more economical way to participate in therapy. No formal evaluation is required and you do not need to be an established client. We do an informal assessment at the first group session. Although we provide parent education and handouts we do not provide any formal reports. If you would like a written summary to give to schools or other professionals there will be an additional charge.
What to expect at a group session
Groups are for children and parents wait in our waiting area, but we reserve time to consult with you, provide handouts, and are always available to communicate by phone and email. We will make sure you understand the strategies we are using so you can carryover at home.
Group scheduling cannot be done online at this time. Please send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org to register.
For New Clients
Our intake paperwork is completed online via our secure portal. This must be completed prior to your first group appointment with us. We may ask you to reschedule if this is not completed, so we encourage you to have this completed as soon as possible.
